The A24 Balham to Colliers Wood scheme is part of the Mayor’s Streetspace for London programme which seeks to respond to the current public health imperative and Government controls by helping to make space for walking, protect bus journey times and improve cycling conditions to enable people to maintain social distancing, particularly at busy times. New guidance was issued by the Department for Transport (DfT) regarding the activity that highway traffic authorities are expected to be undertaking along with funding for Transport for London (TfL) and the London boroughs to deliver such schemes. The A24 Balham to Colliers Wood scheme is being led by TfL, and the London Borough of Wandsworth have been engaged with throughout the process.
