Thank you for your email received by us on 12 June 2017 asking for information about DBS requests. Please accept my apologies for the delay in our response.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we hold some of the information you require.

We have, in the past, accepted certificates procured by Onfido. However, following a review of our policy and discussions with DBS, that policy has changed and we no longer accept certificates from any third party which isn’t our contractor or another licensing authority.

We do not currently hold the number of licenced private hire drivers that submitted declarations via Onfido. To collate this information in relation to an FOI request would exceed the cost limit.
