Our ref: FOI-0670-2324/GH

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 2 June 2023 asking for information about Westway.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

Please find attached copies of the Traffic Orders and the consultation plan that went along with it.

Our inspections and defects records cover all of our assets and signage is not specifically highlighted therefore it would require a manual investigation in order to sift out the accurate and relevant information. Westway covers three boroughs and a vast amount of roads and intersections. It would therefore take an excessive amount of time to manually collate any relevant information from our records.

However, we can confirm that all the 30 mph signage on the A40 Westway elevated section is currently in good condition and complies to the Met Police / Home Office guidelines. There have been no defects reported or repairs undertaken since the new speed limit was enforced other than general cleaning maintenance works.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
