I am representing my client, xxxx, in a personal injury claim following a road traffic accident on 4th November 2019. The accident took place on Lower Richmond Road A3003 at 06:15. The parties involved: Mrxxxxxx, a motorcyclist with registration x Ms xxxxx driving a Black Audi with registration x Mxxxxxxx was proceeding along Lower Richmond Road as the Defendant began to perform a U-turn near the junction with Waldeck Road. We understand that there was a camera on your bus which recorded the incident and this was passed onto the police. The details of the bus: YX09HKU Running number: 290 Route: 419 DE 20048 We therefore request a copy of the CCTV footage onboard the bus which recorded the accident. We await your response.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and TfL’s information access policy.

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested. London's bus services are operated by individual bus companies on behalf of TfL. Any CCTV on London buses is the responsibility of the company that runs that particular service or route. If you require access to images of yourself recorded by a CCTV camera inside a bus you should contact the company who operates that particular bus route. You can find this information on signs displayed inside each vehicle or on our Who runs your bus page.

           

We do know that the footage you are after may have been over written if the footage was not requested at the time, however if the police were involved and they requested the footage at the time of the collision, there is a better chance it would have been kept by the bus operator.
