Please explain to me why the much needed bus stop B opposite Bromley South station has been closed for several months when there has been no sign of road works etc. carried out anywhere near it.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 20 May 2024 asking for information about bus stop B opposite Bromley South station.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.
This bus stop was closed in March due to safety concerns regarding the carriageway. Bus operators had raised concerns about the carriageway breaking up and the surface being uneven causing the bus to rock when serving the stop and increasing the chances of falls on the bus. The stop remains closed as the repairs to the carriageway have not been undertaken / completed.
This has been reported to LB Bromley, who are responsible for the maintenance of this road. We are aware that this is an important bus stop for Bromley residents, and have asked LB Bromley to resolve this issue at the earliest possible date.
