I would like to get information on when the promised Oyster Validators for the Elizabeth line will be installed on the Elizabeth line platforms?
Recent posters at the station have promised installation in April and May, but no sign of them has appeared.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 23rd May 2023 asking for information about Abbey Wood Station Oyster validators.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“I would like to get information on when the promised Oyster Validators for the Elizabeth line will be installed on the Elizabeth line platforms?

I can confirm we hold the information you require.
The permit for the work to install these validators was approved in March of this year. At that time it was believed that no line closures would be needed for the work to proceed - which, in line with health and safety requirements, is necessary when working within 1.25m of a live track. However, as the plan for the work progressed it became apparent that it would not be possible to complete the installations without working within that distance of the track, and hence line closures will be required given the requirement for safe working. This has added delays to the work, with the application to obtain the necessary safety measures on-going. We hope that the work will be completed over the summer.
