FOI request detail

Request for confirmation revised Congestion Sign erected

Request ID: FOI-0555-2021
Date published: 23 July 2020

You asked

Please can you provide documentary evidence of the date the revised Congestion Charge sign (that stated the new operation times of 7am to 10pm due to COVID-19) at the car entry point to St George's Road, SE1 (coming off of the Elephant & Castle roundabout) was erected in place of the previous sign - e. g. please provide paperwork for the works order to the contractor or department to change the sign and the confirmation in writing that they gave to confirm it had been done on the day it was. I presume the request to carry out such work has to be formally logged somewhere on TFL records and the confirmation it has been carried out has to be logged or given in writing by the contractor or department once they have fulfilled it and I therefore would like a copy of all of that paperwork or the computer records of this all please.

Our ref: FOI-0555-2021/GH

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 6 July 2020 asking for information about Congestion Charging signage.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

Please find attached a copy of the contractors final site installation summary provided to us on Sunday 21 June just prior to go-live on 22 June, which includes the relevant entries for your request.

A complete inspection of the boundary signs was undertaken by TfL Managers on Sunday 21 June to double check the site, and the attached photos were taken of the two boundary signs at St Georges Road.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

The impact of current circumstances on TfL’s resources means we are not able to answer FOI requests readily and we ask that you please do not make a request to us at present.

Answering FOI requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. In any event, please note that our response time will be affected by the current situation.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
