Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 15 June 2021 asking for information about a tweet made by Will Norman.
Please can you also clarify what Will Norman meant by: "But perhaps more importantly, it's created a new public space, somewhere to meet people safely outside - a big boost for local businesses." Please could you provide the source that says the closed junction to which Will Norman was referring, has meant a "big boost for local business."
The Tweet you are asking about relates to the Dulwich Village scheme. The source of the 93% statistic you’ve asked about is from the attached presentation. The data in the presentation originated from a report carried out by Dr Anna Goodman of Transport for Quality of Life and is published here: https://www.transportforqualityoflife.com/u/files/1_DulwichReport_FINAL2.pdf
Please be aware that, under the FOI Act, we do not have to answer a request if it would require the creation of new information or the provision of a judgement, explanation, advice or opinion that was not already recorded at the time of the request. The other part of the tweet you’ve asked about is an expression of an opinion that safe outdoor public spaces will be a boost for local business. On that basis your other questions are not requests for recorded information falling under the FOI Act 2000.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
