FOI request detail

Wheelchair use on London Bus routes 14 and 74

Request ID: FOI-0536-2223
Date published: 17 June 2022

You asked

I would like to know the average monthly wheelchair use on the route 74 and 14 buses. The route 74 is heavily used by people getting to and from the Cromwell hospital and the 14 bus route passes the Brompton, Chelsea & Westminster and Royal Marsden Hospitals. It's important for my research that I gather this info.

We answered

TfL Ref: FOI-0536-2223

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 6th June 2022 asking for information about wheelchair use on bus routes 14 and 74.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

Specifically you asked:

I would like to know  the average monthly wheelchair use on the route 74 and 14 buses.  The route 74 is heavily used by people getting to and from the Cromwell hospital and  the 14 bus route passes the Brompton, Chelsea & Westminster and Royal Marsden Hospitals. It's important for my research that I gather this info.”

I am afraid that TfL does not hold the requested information as we do not record the number of bus journeys made by passengers using wheelchairs.

Note that more general information about accessible travel on the TfL network can be found on the following pages of our website:

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
