We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-0534-2223
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 5th June 2022 asking for information about Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) issued to fast food delivery drivers.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Your questions for specific, recorded information are answered below, to the extent that we can:
Question 1: How many tickets you issued to scooter driver (fast food) in last 2 years?
Answer: TfL does not hold this information. When we issue a PCN we do not record the vehicle type and therefore we are unable to establish how many penalties have been issued to scooters, nor specifically to fast food delivery drivers.
Question 2: How many scooter delivery drivers you allowed the appeals?
Answer: As with the answer to question 1 above, we do not record the vehicle type when issuing a penalty so we are unable to establish how many such representations have been allowed.
Question 3: What support is provided to persons who have received a PCN who have financial difficulties and would struggle to pay?
Answer: The payment timeframes for a PCN are set out in the regulations and are detailed on the notice. The regulations do not provide for additional time or reduced payments based on the recipients financial circumstances. However, we do have powers of discretion when dealing with PCNs and will judge each case individually.
Question 4: Is there any camera visible sign that cctv in operation?
Answer: Each bay across the Transport for London Road Network is clearly signed detailing what restrictions are in place. There is no requirement for each bay to have a sign indicating that CCTV cameras are in operation. However, signage is placed intermittently across the network.
Question 5: Is any law coming for fast food delivery drivers or you considering us 3rd class citizen?
Answer: We do not have any current plans to introduce stopping facilities solely for the use of fast food delivery drivers.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely,
