Red Route Traffic Sign Spray Paint Removal

Request ID: FOI-0519-2324
Date published: 25 May 2023

You asked

I received PCN for parking in a red route bay outside 107 Bourgh High Street on Sunday 30th April 2023. That day all the traffic signs in the vicinity, detailing the day and times of the red route enforcement, had been spray painted black. The signs have since had the spray paint removed. I would like to submit an FOI request to check when the spray paint was removed from the signs, as I assume there will be a work order detailing this?

Our ref: FOI-0519-2324/GH

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 21 May 2023 asking for information about the removal of paint on traffic signs.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy.

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you require. We are not aware of enforcement signs which were painted black, and therefore do not hold information on when any spray paint was removed.

There were nearby works with parking bay suspensions in place on 30 April. As shown on the attached Traffic Management plan and confirmed by our contractor the parking bay outside 107 Borough High Street was not suspended.

Where we’ve suspended parking bays as shown on the attached plan the permanent signs are covered with black plastic sheeting and not sprayed over. This black sheeting is still in place, and is set to be removed this weekend.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
