In the Freedom of Information request with ID FOI-1967-2324 (published on 23 September 2023), the following is stated in the response from TFL (reference FOI-1967-2324/GH): “There are yearly noise checks carried out on specific sections of the DLR, with any individual noise complaints also being investigated by the teams at DLR when they arise. DLR is currently undertaking a noise vibration study, the purpose of which is to highlight areas of excessive rail noise on the DLR, the resulting report will deliver options for technology to try and reduce noise, we have made a requested for Crossharbour to be included into the study.” Please can you provide me with the following information with respect to years 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024: - The location where readings were taken nearest to the north end of Crossharbour DLR station and track area between South Quay DLR station and Crossharbour DLR station; - The readings taken from that location for each year specified. Our ref: FOI-0455-2425

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 08 May 2024 asking for information about noise from the DLR in the Crossharbour station area.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy.

I can confirm that we do hold the information you require. You asked:

Please can you provide me with the following information with respect to years 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024:

- The location where readings were taken nearest to the north end of Crossharbour DLR station and track area between South Quay DLR station and Crossharbour DLR station;

- The readings taken from that location for each year specified.

KAD carry out an annual noise survey at historical pre-determined locations across the railway (same locations every year). Unfortunately, Crossharbour is not one of these historical pre-determined locations that have annual noise surveys undertaken. We do not hold data for annual monitoring locations on the South route.

With respect to the “noise vibration study” referenced in the extract above. Please can you provide the findings/conclusions reached for the noise and vibration studied for (i) the track area between South Quay DLR station and Crossharbour DLR station and (ii) Crossharbour DLR station itself.
