You asked
In the TfL report 'Travel in London, report 13', on page 92 it refers to DfT annual estimates of vehicle kilometres, and the DfT benchmarking exercise (approx every 10 years) which showed a significant increase in vehicle traffic on unclassified roads. - previously the data suggested a decrease in vehicle kms between 2009 and 2018 of 2% whereas the revisions by DfT suggested an 18% increase.
The Travel in London, report 13 says:
"pending further investigation of this revision with DfT, we consider it reasonable to base our assessment of changes between 2018 and 2019 on TfLs own traffic monitoring data."...
Please could you provide me with the conclusions of your investigation of this revision with DfT, and the information which shows how you now assess the changes to all motor traffic flows on London roads (in particular unclassified roads) over the time period of DfTs most recent benchmarking exercise.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 6 June 2021 asking for information about our Travel in London report 13.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy.

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested. This is because we are currently still working with the DfT on this issue and we intend to report when the investigation has concluded. This is likely to be in time for the next Travel in London Report at the end of the year. The report will contain our best assessment of changes in traffic on London’s roads over the time period, although we do not typically split traffic down by road type (minor/major roads).
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
