The cause of this most recent flooding is that the drain grates specified are too fine a guage for the amount of foot traffic this area receives and thus they become clogged. Can TfL confirm that drain grates their contractor specified for this site are not fit for purpose?
Can TfL confirm their contractor will now be replacing the affected drain grates?

Thank you for your request received by us on 20 May 2022 asking for information about drainage concerns at Highbury Corner, north London, following your previous requests for information (references: 0137-2223, 2325-2122).
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked for the following:

We can advise remedial works in this vicinity have recently been completed and are to standard. These works enable the dispersal of water between the two drain runs and have increased the below ground capacity so that water is distributed throughout the tree pits.
