Non-ULEZ TFL Buses

With the ULEZ expansion I would like to know how many of TFL's 8600 buses will not be compliant come the introduction of the expanded zone at the end of August. Will any buses that are non-compliant be exempt from the £12.50 charge and how long will it be before all 8600 buses are ULEZ compliant?

Thank you for your request received on 14 May 2023 asking for information about non-Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) compliant buses.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

All buses operating services contracted by TfL now meet or exceed ULEZ emission standards. We have previously answered other requests regarding the emissions of buses and other fleet vehicles, our response has been published and can be found here:
