Dear Transport for London, I would like to request a spreadsheet with the average journey time between each pair of stations on the underground and DLR. Preferably at various times and various days This would enable me to look up journey time to every station on the tube from every other very easily.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 6 May 2024 asking for information about journey times between stations on the London Underground and DLR.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You specifically asked:
I would like to request a spreadsheet with the average journey time between each pair of stations on the underground and DLR. Preferably at various times and various days. This would enable me to look up journey time to every station on the tube from every other very easily.

The London Underground information you asked for is available on the TfL website using the following link: https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/working-timetables.  Distance between stations and running times are included in the working timetables for each London Underground line.

Note that there a different files for different day types (Mon-Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun).

There is a definitions file on the same site: NBT19_Definitions_Published.xlsx

The station codes can be found in the tab names “Stations”.

The column headers refer to the time bands throughout the day. These numbers refer to time bands that can also be looked up in the “Timebands” tab of the definitions file.

We are currently working on the latest version of this data and it will be uploaded to the same site in the near future.

In accordance with section 21 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with a copy of the requested information as it is already accessible to you elsewhere.
