Thank you for your email received by us on 23 May 2017 asking for information about personalised number plates on London transport buses.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked:

Are you able to provide the total cost of personalised number plates on London transport buses from 2015-2017, where they have been paid for at public expense.

The vast majority of buses in the London fleet are owned or leased by private bus operators and carry standard plates. Any costs associated with unique bus number plates they might have would be borne by them and not passed on to us. As far as we are aware from our commercial dealings with bus operators and manufacturers, we have not attracted any costs over those for standard plates for vehicles we own.
