Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 22 May 2021 asking for further information about Congestion and ULEZ charge and Vauxhall Bridge Traffic Management.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.
How was the temporary road traffic signage maintained so as to legally compliant while the Vauxhall Bridge work was being carried out
The traffic management was designed and placed in accordance Chapter 8 of Traffic Signs Manual and General Directions. Our maintenance regime for temporary signs is be a check of all signs in situ before 7am, twice during the day time and a check at end of the shift. All temporary signs were placed with sandbags to weigh them down so they don’t move.
Was a register of defects such as signs being move or removed, damaged in accidents, knocked over due to wind, weather or other reasons during the bridge works?
No register is available of “defects” as the operatives check the sites as mentioned above and re position or move signs if needed.
From TfL or their contractor becoming aware of a defect in the temporary signage, how long did it take to rectify the defect?
No signs were identified as being defective, however if signs were out of position then this is are rectified during each maintenance check.
I request a copy of such registrar or records.
