We answered

Our Ref:         FOI-0373-2021

Thank you for your request received on 9 June 2020 asking for information about bus speeds on Petersham Road, Richmond.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require.

The attached spreadsheets provide average and peak speeds data for routes 65 and 371 in this residential area. There are a few exceedances which our Customer Experiences team will be sharing with the operator(s). In most cases, vehicles were travelling within or at much lower speeds than the limit. The data we use is indicative based on the systems available to us and is helpful for compliance purposes. One of our plans to enhance safety across the network is to roll out Intelligent Speed Assistance to all vehicles in our fleet. Currently, around 16 per cent of our buses have this technology to assist drivers with speed control. As new vehicles replace older buses, this will make up an increasing proportion of the fleet.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please feel free to contact me.
