Dear Transport for London, this request is for all documents relating to any rights to use my passport to travel on public transport in London. Yours faithfully, [Received 5 May 2024] : Dear FOI, my understanding is that I can lawfully show my passport at any entrance or barrier within the transport system to travel on public transport in London. This would mean, I am without need to have any form of payment, ticket, or paid pass. I hope this clarifies my request. Please send me the references in law. Thanks

Thank you for your further email received by Transport for London (TfL) on 5 May 2024 asking for information about travel in London.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

Your understanding is incorrect. Travel is only permitted on our services using a ticket, an Oyster card (with a season ticket, pay as you go credit or a free travel concession on it) or contactless payment.

TfL’s Conditions of Carriage sets out a customer’s rights and duties when using TfL services. This is published on our website available using the following link: https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/terms-and-conditions/ticketing-and-travel-conditions-of-carriage
