Thank you for your request received on 11 May 2023 asking for information about private hire vehicles (PHVs).
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. You asked for:

Taxi and private hire vehicles are licensed on an annual basis and where there is a period of relicensing some data in the vehicle records are overwritten to reflect the new licence. Therefore, the information provided in the accompanying attachment is a snapshot of all licensed taxi and private hire vehicles as of 6 February 2023. This is the most recent data we hold. All vehicles are licensed in London by Transport for London.
