The Fit for the Future Stations programme was a financial success, delivering the savings target of £50m per annum when it was fully implemented in 2016/17. Following a review of the programme by London TravelWatch in November 2016 a number of recommendations were made, including the reintroduction of a significant number of roles to the organisation in the following year. This in turn reduced the annual financial benefit being delivered, however the programme continues to deliver embedded run rate savings of £35m per annum.
