Many thanks for your prompt response and explanation, though I am surprise that there is more of a demand for trains in that direction, as the trains are often very busy out to Loughton/Epping whereas the Hainault trains are pretty empty. Can you let me have the figures for this comment, especially as later in the same email, you then state "but as demand for both Eastbound branches is fairly even, the service has been devised to meet demand for both", which does seem to be contradicting the first comment.

I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
Data on the number of passengers using each London Underground station is published on our website here:
If you open the link and click the box “Understood - take me to the reports”, and then “Demand by Station Type” you will see a list of all Underground stations to the right of the page. You can select a single station or a selection of stations (using the “shift” key on your keyboard) and use the boxes at the top left of the page to set a timeframe (including a single day if both boxes are set to the same day). You can also use the “Tube Entry” and “Tube Exit” boxes to see the number of passengers entering the station, exiting the station, or both combined.
In accordance with section 21 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with a copy of the requested information as it is already accessible to you elsewhere.
