TfL Ref: FOI-0318-2223

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 12th May 2022 asking for information about car park usage at stations on the Jubilee Line.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

Specifically you asked:

I would like to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act regarding car park usage at Stanmore, Canon's Park, Queensbury, and Wembley Park stations. Can you please provide the following data for each station car park? Could you please provide data on the following items for the dates between 01st December 2018 and 30th April 2022:

The daily peak number of vehicles parked in the car park
The time of day where the most vehicles are parked in the car park
The number of vehicles in the station car park by 07:30”.

I can confirm that we hold the information you require. However, I am afraid that it is not possible to source the information within the costs limit for responding to requests, as set out under section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act. Under section 12, TfL is not required to provide information if it would cost more than £450 to determine if the information is held, and to then locate, retrieve or extract it from elsewhere. This is calculated at a rate of £25 per hour, equivalent to 18 hours work.

In this case the cost limit applies because this specific information has not been collated before and there is no quick or efficient way of doing so. Colleagues that oversee the managerment of our car parks estimate that it would take well in excess of the 18 hour threshold to souce daily information for a period spanning over 3 years. In order to bring your request within the costs limit you may wish to narrow its scope to focus on the information that is of most importance to you - for example, by asking for data for a much narrower timeframe.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely,

David Wells
