Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 25th April 2024 asking for information about closures of Caledonian Road London Underground station. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“How often has Caledonian Road been closed in the last year? What are the reasons and how often has it been shut down last minute without notice? Are the reasons behind the closures listed? Ie. staffing issues.”
I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
The requested information can be found in the attached spreadsheet (you may need to expand the width of some columns to read the data in full). Please note the following:
The data relates to the period 01/04/2023 to 31/03/2024;
The data included is based on the station being fully closed (meaning passengers cannot enter or exit the station, and all train services running through the station non-stopping so passengers cannot interchange either);
Station closures are recorded for durations of 2 minutes or more;
A station can be closed multiple times during a day. These will be recorded as separate closures;
Timings and cause of closures maybe subject to change pending further review of incidents;
All dates, times, delays and durations are captured manually and should be used as a guide. Small discrepancies in the data are not uncommon
‘Business Function’ definitions are as follows:
Stations Operations: Closures that may have been caused due to lack of available station staff or some kind of customer incident such as the malicious operation of a call point resulting in station being closed;
Systems & Infrastructure: Closures related to assets such as lifts, escalators, or power supply
