As part of my research works I need GIS shapefiles/layers of underground and overground rail routes for the whole network. and stops? And also TfL network boundary shape files. if so, would it be possible to have these supplied to me for my research?

Thank you for your email which we received on 1 May 2023, asking for GIS shapefiles on TfL’s property assets. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. I can confirm TfL does hold the information you require. You specifically asked:

The Transport for London Road Network (TLRN) Highways Authority boundary GIS shape files are publicly available, via this link;
In accordance with section 21 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with a copy of the requested information as it is already accessible to you elsewhere.
However, in accordance with the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply this information for the London Underground and Overground network as it is subject to statutory exemptions to the right of access to information, under Section 38(1)(b) and Section 24 of the FOI Act. The reasoning for this is explained in more detail in this published response.
