NUMBER OF VEHICLES REGISTERED IN EXTENDED ULEZ ZONE

A. The total number of cars of all kinds which are currently registered to keepers within the extended ULEZ zone, (around the north and south circular roads, but excluding the Central London congestion zone) which were:- (i) First registered before 9 May 1981; (ii) Registered after 9 May 1981 but before 1 January 2006 (iii) Registered since 1 January 2006 B. The total number of petrol cars which are currently registered to keepers within the extended ULEZ zone (around the north and south circular roads, but excluding the Central London congestion zone) which were:- (i) First registered before 9 May 1981; (ii) Registered after 9 May 1981 but before 1 January 2006 (iii) Registered since 1 January 2006 C. The total number of diesel cars which are currently registered to keepers within the extended ULEZ zone (around the north and south circular roads, but excluding the Central London congestion zone) which were:- (i) First registered before 9 May 1981; (ii) Registered after 9 May 1981 but before 1 January 2006 (iii) Registered since 1 January 2006 D. The total number of hybrid electric/petrol cars which are currently registered to keepers within the extended ULEZ zone (around the north and south circular roads, but excluding the Central London congestion zone) which were:- (i) First registered before 9 May 1981; (ii) Registered after 9 May 1981 but before 1 January 2006 (iii) Registered since 1 January 2006 E. The total number of electric diesel cars which are currently registered to keepers within the extended ULEZ zone (around the north and south circular roads, but excluding the Central London congestion zone) which were:- (i) First registered before 9 May 1981; (ii) Registered after 9 May 1981 but before 1 January 2006 (iii) Registered since 1 January 2006

Thank you for your request of 9th May 2021 asking for information about the number of vehicles registered in the extended Ultra Low Emission Zone.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. 

Specifically you asked to know:

“A.         The total number of cars of all kinds which are currently registered to keepers within the extended ULEZ zone, (around the north and south circular roads, but excluding the Central London congestion zone) which were:-

(i)         First registered before 9 May 1981;
(ii)        Registered after 9 May 1981 but before 1 January 2006
(iii)       Registered since 1 January 2006

B.         The total number of petrol cars which are currently registered to keepers within the extended ULEZ zone  (around the north and south circular roads, but excluding the Central London congestion zone) which were:-

(i)         First registered before 9 May 1981;

C.        The total number of diesel cars which are currently registered to keepers within the extended ULEZ zone  (around the north and south circular roads, but excluding the Central London congestion zone)  which were:-

(i)         First registered before 9 May 1981;
(ii)        Registered after 9 May 1981 but before 1 January 2006
(iii)       Registered since 1 January 2006

D.        The total number of hybrid electric/petrol cars which are currently registered to keepers within the extended ULEZ zone  (around the north and south circular roads, but excluding the Central London congestion zone) which were:-

(i)         First registered before 9 May 1981;
(ii)        Registered after 9 May 1981 but before 1 January 2006
(iii)       Registered since 1 January 2006

E.         The total number of electric diesel cars which are currently registered to keepers within the extended ULEZ zone  (around the north and south circular roads, but excluding the Central London congestion zone)  which were:-

(i)         First registered before 9 May 1981;
(ii)        Registered after 9 May 1981 but before 1 January 2006
(iii)       Registered since 1 January 2006
