We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-0287-2223
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 9th May 2022 asking for a map of TfL assets. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“Please can I request a map showing your assets”.
I am afraid that TfL does not hold the requested information, and note that there is no obligation under the FOI Act to create new information in order to answer a request. As written your question presumably refers to all TfL assets across the whole of London. This is a vast amount of information. Note that TfL is responsible for the following transport modes in London: the London Underground, the London Overground; the Elizabeth Line; the Docklands Light Railway; trams; buses; river services; dial-a-ride; cycle hire; the London cable car - as well as responsibility for the Transport for London Road Network (TLRN) and several Road User Charging schemes. There is not a single map showing all of the “assets” connected with these services across the whole of London. If there is a specific type of asset you are interested in for a particular location (such as your previous request, where we were able to provide you with a map of all TfL-owned illuminated signs on Bromley Common road) then please let me know and we can consider that as a new request.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely,
David Wells FOI Case Officer FOI Case Management Team General Counsel Transport for London
