FOI request detail

Maryland destinations

Date published: 13 July 2017

You asked

F/on from FOI-0011-1718 Thank you for your response and your efforts so far. I probably wasn't as clear as I should have been in my original request - I was actually hoping for a breakdown by destination (for example, like in the attachments provided by TfL in response to a similar request from Feb 2017 in respect of North Greenwich station: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/destinations_from_north_greenwic#incoming-955885 ) I'm happy for this to be treated as a new request if you feel it is not directly related to my original request.

We answered

Our ref: FOI-0282-1718GH

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 9 May 2017 asking for further information about journeys to and from Maryland Station.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

Please find attached a table showing the Entry and Exit figures for Maryland Station.

Please not that where numbers were low, we have shown these as ‘<5’, indicating that there were less than 5 journeys. The numbers of actual journeys have been removed in accordance with TfL’s obligations under the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) and section 40(2) of the FOI Act.. Where low numbers of journeys occurred it may be possible to identify individuals and their travel patterns. Disclosure of this personal data would be a breach of the DPA, specifically the first principle of the DPA which requires all processing of personal data to be fair and lawful. It would not be fair to disclose this personal information when the individuals have no expectation it would be disclosed and TfL has not satisfied one of the conditions of Schedule 2 of the Data Protection Act which would make the processing ‘fair’.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
