We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-0272-1920
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 27th April 2019 asking for information about the cost of repairing damaged traffic signals.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
Specifically you asked:
“What is the total average cost, including parts and labour to replace a single damaged traffic signal as a result of collision with a vehicle?”.
On average the cost is around £3,500, based on traffic signal poles knocked down and subject to a claim during the financial year 2018/19. This is for the pole, equipment attached (e.g. signal head) and inclusive of parts and labour. However, there can be other costs which we are unable to factor-in so this should only be used as a basic guide, and note that each incident will be individually costed depending on the specific damage.
If this is not the information you are looking for please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely,
