TfL Ref: FOI-0264-2425
Thank you for your request which we received on 23 April 2024.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked:
I would like to enquire the total cost of relocating all staff to alternative accommodation e.g. Endeavour Square, as well as cost to TfL itself of long term lease to turn into a hotel e.g. all legal costs for example. I.e. how much did it cost to exit 55 and how much does TfL now pay for alternative accommodation since the idea of leaving was first suggested under the previous Mayor?
Following the introduction of smart working and a significant decrease in forecast demand for space, TfL no longer required the 1,600-desk capacity within the Broadway complex in the medium to long term. 55 Broadway was sold in September 2019 to Integrity International Limited for £122.25m. The associated legal and agency disposal costs were £112k and £309k respectively. The associated move and relocation costs of staff across the TfL estate totalled £1.703m, which included both the decant from Broadway and a complex suite of enabling moves within the existing estate to support the integration of additional staff.
