Dear TfL, I hope this email finds you well. I hereby submit a Freedom of Information request for the following: • Shift patterns for Customer Service Assistants 1 and 2 (CSAs) at the London Underground: bond st station Please also include the non working days for the aforementioned shift patterns. When do Assistants 1 and 2 (CSAs) receive their rotas. Do they get enough notice in between shifts. Many thanks in advance.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 22 April 2024, and for providing your full name.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy.

I can confirm that we do hold the information you require, however, in accordance with the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with the shift patterns for Customer Service Assistants at Bond Street station, as the information you have requested as it is subject to statutory exemptions to the right of access to information, under Section 38(1)(b) of the Act. In this instance the exemption has been as disclosure of this information could adversely affect the safety and security of TfL employees.  

Whilst we make no suggestion that you would use this information for anything other than you own personal interest, disclosure of this information to you has to be regarded as a disclosure to ‘the public at large’. This information could potentially be obtained and utilised by individuals who may wish to use it to cause disruption or annoyance to employees. This information could be used to know a specific employees work patterns and could therefore put them at risk.

The use of this exemption is subject to an assessment of the public interest in relation to the disclosure of the information concerned. We recognise the need for openness and transparency by public authorities, but in this instance the public interest in applying the exemption, in order to minimise risks to the welfare of our staff, outweighs the public interest in disclosure.

We can however, confirm that the rosters are sent out with the appropriate notice.
 
The Advanced roster is published with over 4 weeks’ notice. A version with any amendments is published by 12:00 on the Thursday before the week in question.
