Our ref: FOI-0253-1819/GH
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 30 April 2018 asking for information about FORS Equivalence Audits.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.
The number of audit provider applying for permission to have their audit approved as a FORS Equivalent audit:
Since the establishment of the FORS Community Partnership, TfL have received applications from two Audit Providers seeking to attain equivalence for the purpose of compliance with section 1.2 of TfL’s Work Related Road Risk (WRRR) requirements.
The number of audit providers having their audit accepted as a FORS Equivalent audit:
One.
For refusals the reason behind the refusal with a detailed explanation as to which areas have resulted in FORS Equivalent status being withheld:
The Standards were not equivalent to FORS Bronze with key safety and environmental requirements missing. Additionally the Compliance Manual and supporting Terms and Conditions were unenforceable.
We would also like details on the process (including contact details) for having our audit approved as a FORS Equivalent audit. This should cover all three levels of FORS Audit Standard.
To attain equivalence, send the proposed equivalent Standard along with Terms and Conditions, Compliance Manual, Auditor Specification, Audit Template and any other relevant referenced information to [email protected] . As TfL contractual requirements specify FORS Bronze - TfL is therefore only able to recognise an alternative equivalent scheme to FORS Bronze.
Please provide the contact details for the person within TfL responsible for overseeing the FORS Provider.
Peter Binham, who can be contacted via the Freight email address provided above.
