You asked
Further to FOI-0016, please also advise as to the frequency of buses passing along Farthing way, and whether they are passenger carrying as it seems the 405 service may have been altered.

Our ref: FOI-0219-2425/GH
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 12 April 2024.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.
The frequency of buses at any location on their route can be found on our website. The information for this route can be found here: https://tfl.gov.uk/bus/timetable/405/
We plan capacity to meet demand at the busiest point during the busiest time of the day, therefore there is likely to be some degree of spare occupancy at most points at most times. We try and maintain a high a frequency during off peak times, where viable, to offer the most attractive service as possible and therefore off peak frequencies are not directly set by passenger loadings.
Bus occupancies are derived from the total number of boarding and alighting passengers at each bus stop for each bus trip. The number of boarding passengers is known from the ticketing system when passengers tap in using an Oyster Card or Contactless Payment Card. The most plausible alighting stop of each passenger journey is inferred where possible based on the location of the next transaction observed by the same travel card, or based on the first transaction of the day observed by the same travel card.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
