We answered

TfL Ref: 0181-1920

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 23 April 2019 asking for information about Crossrail lorry and truck driver training information from 2013/14 and the installation of Trixie mirrors.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require.

Trixi mirrors were authorised by the DfT and TfL first installed Trixie Mirrors at this site on 21 February 2013 according to the attached (site drawing 00000002-15.pdf).  At this time there were four mirrors, one for each of the poles on north, south, east and westbound.

The site has since been changed and the north/southbound mirrors have been removed on this segregated cycle route.  Currently there are only two mirrors on the east and westbound poles (site drawing 0000002.pdf).  This was carried out in April 2016.

Regarding the second part of your request, we do not hold this information however we can advise that Havering College of Further Education provided driver training for the Crossrail project. You may  like to contact them for further information on the training materials they used. Their website is: https://www.havering-college.ac.uk/.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely
