Could you send me information on how often the 4 escalators at Cutty Sark DLR station are out of operation. I would like to know which escalators were out of service, for how long, and whether this was planned or unplanned for as far back as you have information

Thank you for your email received by us on 15 April 2019 asking for information about escalator availability at Docklands Light Railway’s (DLR) Cutty Sark Station.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. You asked for:

information on how often the 4 escalators at Cutty Sark DLR station are out of operation. I would like to know which escalators were out of service, for how long, and whether this was planned or unplanned for as far back as you have information

I can advise that Cutty Sark Station is owned and maintained by a separate company, CGL Rail, under a concession agreement whilst the escalators are maintained by franchisee Keolis Amey Docklands, rather than Transport for London (TfL). Therefore for the purposes of FOI, TfL do not actually hold the information you seek.

However, to try and assist your enquiry Keolis Amey Docklands have provided you with the attached spreadsheet. The information has been provided by Keolis Amey Docklands in the format that they recorded it in from 19 December 2014 onwards. They have also advised that the data consists of mainly unplanned recorded outages rather than planned ones. Unfortunately not all ‘Return to service times’ on the spreadsheet are completed.

Whilst Keolis Amey Docklands can provide the table below featuring planned outages for escalator refurbishment, they believe that one of the data entries for ‘Cutty Sark 2’ does in fact refer to Escalator Cutty Sark 1.
