Thanks for your message and prompt reply.
It can’t be surprising to anyone in TfL that members of the public living along the route of C9, who have experienced a drop in service of buses, might want to ask questions about the impact of the bike lane.
Even more significantly, as a taxpayer, I would expect TfL to collect and keep this data in order to evaluate the impact of its initiatives, and so learn hoe to do things better in future.
I have to say that I am so unimpressed that I would like to ask you under the FoI Act, who took the decision not to keep this data and who approved that decision.
Finally, to whom can I make a formal complaint?

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 12 April 2024 asking for information about Bus Travel Data.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.
iBus collects and processes a huge amount of data each day. Certain summary data is saved off line for performance reporting purposes but there is far too much data to extract and save everything offline.
The database source for our performance data has been in use since 2010. This database holds data for only 2 rolling years (26 rolling periods), and this system constraint has existed since we reached 2 years’ worth of iBus data. There is no recorded information which explains the reasons behind setting this limitation all those years ago or who ultimately signed off on it, but data storage costs, maintenance costs and the performance of the database are likely contributory factors.
