Transport for London has recently released a series of audio guides on ten Elizabeth Line stations: Abbey Wood, Bond Street, Canary Wharf, Custom House, Farringdon, Liverpool Street, Paddington, Tottenham Court Road, Whitechapel, and Woolwich.
I would like to know:
- The budget that was set aside for creating these audio guides
- How much this project (including fees for research, reporting and narration) cost in total
- What date the project was first proposed
- Which departments were involved in delivering this project

Thank you for your request received on 17 April 2023 asking for information about the Elizabeth line audio guides.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require. You asked for:
• The budget that was set aside for creating these audio guides • How much this project (including fees for research, reporting and narration) cost in total
The guides are a free resource for people visiting the central section Elizabeth line stations and the narrators kindly provided their services free of charge.
All the research and production were done in-house at no extra cost.
• What date the project was first proposed?
The idea of creating audio guides was first suggested by the Press Office in 2021 as one of a number of ideas and activities to share information on the architecture of the 10 stations that make up the central section of the Elizabeth line and local communities surrounding them. It was scheduled to be developed and produced in 2023 around other activities and announcements TfL was planning.
