Follow-up to 2325-2122: I note that as of 19/04/22 contractors are now on site undertaking excavations. Can you please confirm for me: 1) Is this work to implement a permanent solution to the problems identifies? 2) Who has accepted liability and thus born the costs of remedial work? 3) Once remedial work is completed will TfL be creating a works order to replant the three three pits in this location that are currently without trees?

Thank you for your request received by us on 20 April 2022 asking for information about drainage matters at Highbury Corner, north London, following your previous request for information (reference: 2325-2122)

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked for the following:

I note that as of 19/04/22 contractors are now on site undertaking excavations. Can you please confirm for me:
 
  1. Is this work to implement a permanent solution to the problems identifies?

Yes, we can advise that Ringway Jacobs and Gavigan Paving Ltd, the contractors responsible for implementing the Highbury Corner Roundabout Removal project returned and attended the site during the penultimate week of April 2022, to rectify the drainage issue.

Ringway Jacobs and Gavigan Paving Ltd has also confirmed that this work is completed and the issue fixed, at no cost to TfL.
 
  1. Who has accepted liability and thus born the costs of remedial work?

The contractor Ringway Jacobs has accepted liability and all associated cost.
 
  1. Once remedial work is completed will TfL be creating a works order to replant the three pits in this location that are currently without trees?

Yes, we can confirm that tree planting around this area is scheduled to be installed by our Assets Maintenance Team, in the coming weeks
