Date published: 05 May 2021

You asked

Dear FOI Officer, Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to know how much Transport for London has spent on 2 Low Traffic Neighbourhoods in the London Borough of Sutton, (1) North Sutton LTN and (2) Kings Lane LTN. I ask becase a recent FoI response from yourselves to another enquirer mentioned 4 LTNs in Sutton which received TfL funding but none matched either of these (or these by any other names) but both exist.

We answered

TfL Ref: FOI-0135-2122 Thank you for your request of 21st April 2021 asking for information about Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs) in the London Borough of Sutton. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. Specifically you asked: “Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to know how much Transport for London has spent on 2 Low Traffic Neighbourhoods in the London Borough of Sutton, (1) North Sutton LTN and (2) Kings Lane LTN. I ask becase a recent FoI response from yourselves to another enquirer mentioned 4 LTNs in Sutton which received TfL funding but none matched either of these (or these by any other names) but both exist.” I can confirm that £0 has been spent by TfL on either the North Sutton or Kings Lane schemes. However, note that TfL has allocated £67,634 for the North Sutton LTN but this money has not yet been claimed by the borough nor paid out by TfL. The Kings Lane LTN is not being funded by TfL. Rather, funding was paid by the DfT via their Active Travel Fund. More general information about LTNs can be found on our website here: https://madeby.tfl.gov.uk/2020/12/15/low-traffic-neighbourhoods/ If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me. If you are considering submitting a further FOI request please think carefully about whether the request is essential at this current time, as answering FOI requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. Where requests are made, please note that our response time may be impacted by the current situation. Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed. Yours sincerely, David Wells FOI Case Officer FOI Case Management Team General Counsel Transport for London
