Follow-up to FOI-2549-2021: Wow wee that's a lot of hits. How about reducing the time period? Lets say from 20/1/21 (the High Court's decision) to 10/2/21 (the Court of Appeal allow leave to appeal) and get rid of the trigger words Bishopsgate & LTDA. Does that bring the work within the £450 limit? This restriction on hours/money spent on TfL FOI requests makes me wonder how many requests are completed well within time/money constraints. What happens to all the unused hours/money per easy request? Can't someone else make use of the unused element? That together with how many requests are dropped due to excessive cost implications might be a FOI request for another day. Please let me know if my tweaks have done the trick and when I might expect to get the info.

We answered

TfL Ref: FOI-0133-2122 Thank you for your further request of 20th April 2021. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy You have narrowed down your previous request (our ref FOI-2549-2021) to now ask for any correspondence sent between Sadiq Khan, Heidi Alexander, Helen Chapman, Andy Byford and Gareth Powell, or anything sent externally by them, in the period 20/01/2021 to 10/02/2021, mentioning any of the following words, in relation to the High Court decision of 20th January 2021 or the subsequent appeal: High Court; Appeal; UTAG Running an automated search of these keywords against the relevant email accounts across the timeframe specified we found 476 emails that potentially met the criteria of your request. To ascertain which fall within the scope of the request they have been individually reviewed. I can confirm that we do not hold any emails between those named individuals, or anything that was sent by them to external organisations, within that timeframe which are relevant to the High Court Judgement or any subsequent appeal. Note that the GLA may potentially hold emails sent between or from Heidi Alexander and/or the Mayor, as it is a distinct entity to TfL and we do not have access to their email accounts (we would only hold emails sent by them to a TfL account or vice versa). However, I would reiterate the advice given in my previous response that it may be more productive for you to be more specific as to exactly what it is you want to know or, if asking for information under FOI, to be more specific as to what precise information you want, as speculative ‘fishing’ exercises may not be the most efficient way of addressing your concerns. If you are considering submitting a further FOI request please think carefully about whether the request is essential at this current time, as answering FOI requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. Where requests are made, please note that our response time may be impacted by the current situation. hill Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal. Yours sincerely, David Wells FOI Case Officer FOI Case Management Team General Counsel Transport for London
