You asked

Please supply the total numbers of man hours of work on site at Kentish Town underground station, broken down with precise information on which days. times of day and role of worker since the station closed. Please breakdown information on where the work took place, including with reference to whether the work in question took place on escalators, inside the station or in the commercial premises above the station . Please supply information on the date when escalators were ordered.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 10 April 2024 asking for information about Kentish Town tube station.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You specifically asked: Please supply the total numbers of man hours of work on site at Kentish Town underground station, broken down with precise information on which days, times of day and role of worker since the station closed. Please breakdown information on where the work took place, including with reference to whether the work in question took place on escalators, inside the station or in the commercial premises above the station . 
Please supply information on the date when escalators were ordered. 


Please find attached the number of labour shifts completed at Kentish Town per month since the works commenced on site in June 2023.

Each shift is equivalent to an average 8 hours per shift.

Our standard shift patterns are 08:00 – 17:00; 21:00 – 06:00 & if practical a middle shift of 16:00 – 22:00

To aid the review of the labour shifts TfL confirms the following:

UESL – Electrical Contractor
RJC – Hoarding & Site Setup Contractor
Telent – Communications Contractor
Cubic – LU Gateline Contractor
Otis – Escalator Contractor
LBFoster – Fire System Contractor
Thales – Connect Cable Contractor
Cleshar – Civils & Premises Contractor
TFL – Construction Team
Equans – LU Fire Maintainer
Roxrose –  Telecomms services
Global – TfL Advertising Contractor
ABM – LU Cleaning Contractor
Lanes – LU Drainage Maintainer
Delatim – mechanical contractor

Due to the nature of the contracted scopes we do not separate man hour data into location as works are priced and managed against a contracted schedule of works.

We can confirm that all of the issued man hours are for works within the station and works have only commenced within the commercial premises in April 2024. This data is not yet available.

The Escalators were ordered on 17th November 2022
