Thank you for your email received by us on 12 April 2019 asking for information about electric bus fleet charging and telemetry data.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy. You asked for:

information on the charging patterns and the journeys for the electric buses currently in operation. Having looked into the open data api there are still a few pieces of data missing that I hope can be made available. Please could you share any time series data for the charging and telemetry of all the vehicles currently in the fleet of electric buses, preferably including state of charge of the batteries, charging times and location data.

Unfortunately, we no longer record battery performance data for the current fleet of electric buses. We ceased recording very early performance data on a small number of older first generation electric buses after sufficient operating knowledge had been learnt and this historic data would not be representative of today's battery chemistry, management systems and energy consumption performance.

The information you are seeking is held by the various bus and battery manufacturers whom you can contact directly via: (https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/buses/). However, please note that as private companies they are not obliged to respond under the Freedom of Information Act legislation.
