FOI request detail

Car Parks

Request ID: FOI-0122-2021
Date published: 22 May 2020

You asked

F/on from FOI-3870-1920 Can you confirm that when TfL said ‘that ‘Between June 2018 and October 2019 we undertook a number of detailed surveys to understand how this car park is used’ that in fact they only carried out two surveys NOT ‘a number of’ surveys? I assume this is the case as I’ve only been presented with two surveys: 1) car park users survey data and 2) Local on street parking survey. Neither of these surveys constitutes ‘A transport analysis of the proposed removal of commuter car parking and car-free development’. If other surveys and indeed a ‘A transport analysis of the proposed removal of commuter car parking and car-free development’ do exist, please send me the other surveys which make up the ‘number of’ referred to.

We answered

Our ref: FOI-0122-2021/GH

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 24 April 2020 asking for information about car parks.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy.

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you require. Each survey report is typically the result of a number of individual survey days. The surveys that we have shared with you and that were published in response to FOI-1736-1920 are the only reports that have been completed. These will help inform our transport assessment which will be  required to support any future planning application.

Our transport assessment will be published on the local planning authorities website once an application is submitted and validated.

Please note, the Government has announced a series of measures to tackle the coronavirus. It is essential for London, that we continue to provide a safe transport network for essential journeys.

In current circumstances, we are not able to answer FOI requests readily and we ask that you please do not make a request to us at present.

Answering FOI requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. In any event, please note that our response time will be affected by the current situation.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
