Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 13th April 2022 asking for information about 1992 rolling stock on the Central line.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“Please would it be possible to know if the 1992 stock contains any asbestos material?”
The Central line 1992 rolling stock was constructed in the early 1990’s and first entered service in 1993. Although the original stock was manufactured before the ban on the use of asbestos in 1999, the materials used in this rolling stock did not include asbestos.
