We answered

TfL Ref: FOI-0071-2122 Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 11 April 2021, asking for information about an average speed camera on the A40. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked: 1) what date were these cameras prior to Feb 2021 calibrated and what were the results. We are unable to provide these results as the Metropolitan Police hold the certificates. 2) why is the camera on the A40 Perivale not the exit camera after the A40 long lane ub6 camera. The A40 has a combination of intermediate entry and exit cameras to maximise coverage. 3) Is it not the case that the A40 40 mph restriction was due to be from A40 long Lane ub6 to the Polish war memorial? In January 2018 it was identified, during an inspection, that a section of the VRS (Vehicle Restraint System) barrier on the A40 between Target roundabout and Greenford Flyover was in “life expired” condition. As a result a 40mph speed restriction safety measure was put in place between Hanger Lane and the Polish war memorial. If you are considering submitting a further request please think carefully about whether the request is essential at this current time, as answering FOI/EIR requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity.
