Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 7 April 2024 asking for information about BTP funding.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You specifically asked: Could you tell me how much TFL have funded BTP for the next 12 months and what services will be provided by BTP?
Have TFL entered into an enhanced police service agreement to cover specialist roles such as the emergency response unit and medical team as before?
Response:
Total TfL budget of £86.7m for 2024/25
TfL’s budget covers the cost of BTPs B Division’s direct core policing costs including:
Police Officer, PCSO and staff remuneration inclusive of associated employer costs; and
Indirect costs including overheads
The relationship between TfL and BTP is managed through a Police Services Agreement made pursuant to section 33 of the Railways and Transport Safety Act 2003
Our funding currently provides for the Emergency Response Unit and the Network Incident Response Team, under an enhanced police services agreement
