Please can you send me the organisation’s Local Area Network (LAN) contract, which may include the following: • Support and Maintenance- e.g. switches, router, software etc • Managed- If this includes services than just LAN. 1. Thank you for your request which we received on 6 April 2023, asking for information about TfL’s Local Area Network (LAN) contract.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked:

1. Contract Type: Managed or Maintenance

Managed LAN & WAN.

2. Existing Supplier: Who is the current supplier?

Capita Business Services.

3. Annual Spend for each supplier: What is the annual average spending on the supplier above? If there is more than one supplier, please split the annual averages spent for each supplier.

Circa £4.7m – LAN.

4. Number of Users: Please can you provide me with the number of users this contract covers. Approximate number of users will also be acceptable.

Approximately 30,000 users.

5. Number of Sites: The number of sites, where equipment is supported by each contract.

Approximately 1,200 sites.

6. Hardware Brand: What is the hardware brand of the LAN equipment?

Cisco.

7. Contract Description: Please provide me with a brief description of the overall contract.

The contract provides for the provision and support of TfL’s Access Network, LAN and WAN services.

8. Contract Duration: What is the duration of the contract is and can you please also include any extensions this may include.

It’s a 10 year contract (including 5 years extension option).

9. Contract Expiry Date: When does the contract expire?

The contract is set to run until August 2028.

10. Contract Review Date: When will the organisation be planning to review the contract?

In 2025.

11. Responsible Officer: Contact details including name, job title, contact number and email address?

Job title: Commercial Manager.

In accordance with our obligations under Data Protection legislation, the contact number and email address you are seeking have been withheld, as required by section 40 of the Freedom of Information Act. This is because disclosure of this personal data would be a breach of the legislation, specifically the first principle of Article 5 of the General Data Protection Regulation which requires all processing of personal data to be fair and lawful. It would not be fair to disclose this personal information when the individuals have no expectation it would be disclosed and TfL has not satisfied one of the conditions which would make the processing ‘fair’. This exemption to the right of access to information is an absolute exemption and not subject to an assessment of whether the public interest favours use of the exemption.
