Hello, the train was delayed and it causes us to miss our flight out to Santorini. Please kindly send us an official letter to inform about the train delay for our insurance claim please. Thank you. Clarification received 17/04/2024: We board elizabeth line from Bond Street station on 5 Apr. I do not have the exact timing but it was around 5 ish in the morning. The train stop at West Ealing and we were ask to get down as they do not know when the train will be fixed.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 5th April 2024 asking for information about delays on the Elizabeth Line.
 
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. 

Specifically you asked:

“Elizabeth Train Delay 5 April: Hello, the train was delayed and it causes us to miss our flight out to Santorini. Please kindly send us an official letter to inform about the train delay for our insurance claim please.”.

On 17th April you confirmed that you boarded the Elizabeth line from Bond Street station around 5 in the morning, with the train then stopping at West Ealing.

I can confirm that on the morning of 5th April 2024 there was a freight train derailment at West Ealing sidings, which caused disruption to the Elizabeth Line. The incident started at around 0610. A copy of the “control log” report is shown below:


9T33 was the first train cancelled at Paddington.  The trains prior to this ran but were delayed.  

Below is a summary of all trains that were due to call at West Ealing, that were partly cancelled or cancelled up until 09.00 on the 5 April. These trains all terminated at Paddington:-
