I wanted to know who pays for the funding for a bus company ie Stagecoach go ahead Arriva who pays for the non PCV driving to train them and would I have to pay back anything if I move to a different company within the Tfl.

Thank you for your request received by us on 8 April 2022 asking for information about bus driver training. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked:

Bus services provided by the various bus operating companies are sub-contracted by Transport for London to run routes on our behalf as part of the London Buses network, through contracts tendered. However, any decisions relating to bus driver training and driver recruitment is the decision of the bus company, rather than Transport for London.
